As a place to serve the heart of an active, tight-knit religious community this project called for a collaborative process that involved active participation and ongoing communication with parish committee members. The phased project replaced the 80-year-old community center and school with new structures and amenities, including a new playground, commercial kitchen, plateia, and parking lot; while allowing church and school activities to continue undisturbed. The site required geo-pier, rammed-rock foundations for long-term stabilization, and included building on a busy, confined site with no area for staging.
