A local landmark since 1966, the former Dunn Edwards paint store was renovated without diminishing its historical character. Transforming the iconic retail store into a modern office space required demolishing the interior, installing an elevator, mezzanine with light-well, and seismic retrofits. The original radial stairs were removed, refinished, and reinstalled to wrap the newly installed elevator. The unique features of the building and the project’s innovative solutions earned it the prestigious “Gold Nugget Award” from Builder Magazine.
